Ven let out a hum of approval and squeezed Rikku’s hand gently in return. When his carrier let out a sigh, the blonde turned to her curiously. At the mention od ‘the waiting game’, he understood immediately. She was antsy about the little beans they had dropped in the tanks today. ”Time will fly by faster than you know Rikku, and then you’ll be able to see the little blobs bobbing about.” Ventus chided lightly to the wiggling blonde carrier.
Catching those emerald eyes gazing back into his azul ones, the blonde charge gave Rikku a tender smile, bringing her hand up to his lips and kissing it sweetly. “Why don’t we chill outside today? You did say it was nice, so why not relax and laze about outside? You can even be in your primal too if you want, I don’t mind. More cuddles for me.”
Rikku blushed lightly at the kiss to her hand before leaning in and hugging her Charge. She smiled and kissed Ventus gently, laying the two of them against the grass and cuddling. “I know, but it took so long to get to that point.” Rikku frowned against the fabric of the blond’s shirt. The Carrier closed her eyes and nuzzled his chest.
“I’ll change later.” Rikku decided out loud. “I like cuddling this way, too. I can actually wrap my arms around you without being afraid of squishing you.” The blonde giggled and kissed Ventus’s clothed chest. “You can have tiger cuddles later.”
Letting his mind wander, Ventus almost didn’t notice his carrier come up to him, as bouncy and hyper as ever and plant a chaste kiss on his cheek. Grinning at the blonde as she settled herself next to him beside the pool, the charge too her hand an intertwined their fingers, humming contently. Shifting azul eyes to his Rikku, he grinned. “Yeah, figured I could you some relaxation after plopping the little globs in the gestational tanks.” Turning his gaze out to the field he watched the other occupants of the facility go about their business peacefully. “What about you, darling? Feeling any better after your cat nap?” To this the blonde let out a chuckle. How someone was able to sleep so much was beyond him. Must be a cat thing.
“Way better~” Rikku smiled and squeezed Ventus’s hand gently. She pulled her feet up and set her chin on her knees as she watched the other Carriers running about. The blonde let out a small sigh. “I hate playing the waiting game.” Rikku admitted, pursing her lips as she imagined how long it would take before they saw at least a speck of the new globs. “I think that was enough work for today.” She finally smiled and wiggled some, working the muscles that had gotten used to not working from her sitting down again. “Want to get some dinner and go watch a movie from the tablet or shall we just laze about outside? It’s nice~” She met her Charge’s gaze then, a crooked smile on her face as the two sat there holding hands.
It was quite the sunny day, perfect for a day out by the pool if you asked Ventus. The blonde was enjoying a day off of work, a few carriers already in the gestational tanks, cooking away. Sure it’d be a while to know for sure if they tough out the trip but Ven was sure him and Rikku could handle a loss or two. It was just something they had to go through in this line of business.
A few sprinkles of water splashed against his calves as the charge kicked his legs at a comfortable rhythm in the pool. The blonde was casually seated with his legs dipping into the deeper end of the pool, just enjoying the light breeze that had picked up out of nowhere. All around Ven, carriers and charges were going about their daily business: running laps, check ups, cuddling, playing with the cubs, or just lazing around in the sun much like he was.
Gazing up to the octagonal panels of the dome, Ven let out a content sigh. “God it’s nice out today. Nothing could make today a complete shitastrophe.”
